Elliott's first holiday season

Yesterday I went to Salty's on the Columbia for Christmas brunch with two friends. It had to be very impressive to live up to its $35 price tag per person, and I must say it lived up to its expectations. The food was wonderful, the view breathtaking, and service friendly and attentive without being stuffy or overdone. Elliott was of course, practically a celebrity by the time we left. Servers that I didn't know and werent assigned to our table were talking about how cute Elliott is and waving good bye. Elliott also got a picture with Santa Claus there- he wasn't smiling, but he also wasn't crying. It was a wonderful time.

I hope to make it to Zoo Lights with Elliott this season since he loves looking at lights and is absolutely enchanted by the Christmas tree. Last year Gad and I went to dinner at the Rhinelander followed by a visit to the Grotto to see the lights and listen to carols inside the church there. We plan on doing that again this year, but with Elliott along, and hope it can be an annual tradition for our family.

I wanted to mention today too that Elliott seems to LOVE books. He pays attention and sometimes talks at the books. He sits attentively though entire books, sometimes 20 minutes at a time. I hope this is a sign that he'll be a well read child and later adult.
